Baby Hazing

So yesterday had to return to work, to all our horror as we had grown quiet accustomed to our little trio shut out from the outside world all cozy in our little cottage of a house. No need for TV as Fred is more than entertaining. We knew this would be an adjustment, we knew that mama may shed a tear or two, but this sneaky little baby had a trick hidden up its sleeve. Due to long car rides and waiting in the doctors office (which by the way we got a great report of bulking this baby up to 9lbs 2oz) Fred got a little longer shut eye than what we normally have at home. He took the opportunity to try and play on my doubts of being able to take care of him alone. It was as if he said, "Try this on for size lady! You think you can be a mom?" And decided to test my mettle by staying up and being wide awake from 1:00am till about 4:30am. Mom was in tears by 4:00am, and it took dad a mere 20 minutes once he awoke to mom's sobbing to settle the little bundle down and off to sleep. Who knew babies could be so cruel? I'm happy to say however that we are back on track today... its amazing how functional you can be with 4 hours in a row of sleep!
