The Fred Society

Yes, there is such a thing that exists. Does your name have a society club? You can check out the Fred's at http://www.fredsociety.com I just e-mailed the head Fred a picture to put on the new Fred page so we'll have to check back soon. I also asked the head Fred if the society has a preference on the spelling of Freddy/Freddie - which has turned into be a most controversial topics among friends & family, the polling is inside the margin of error so we have a tie! We'll let you know what his verdict is. Grandma Worst came up to play today and Fred just loved taking a nap in her lap! We also got his foot print in some sort of clay for a keepsake, took a bath, and spit-up everywhere, although not in that order, Mommy had a lot of fun too, we love Grandma's!

The Easter Fred

Fred had a wonderful first Easter with both sets of Grandparents, 2 aunts, an uncle, a great uncle, & GGP (that's great grandpa for those not familiar with our families nickname). I was so excited to put him in this little blue velour outfit that had polka dots and when he wore the matching hat he looked like a little speckled robin egg, of course because this was the first time I planned an outfit for him (with matching boppy cover, burp cloths, & blankets to boot) Fred promptly had an explosive diaper when he awoke from his nap when we got to my parents, so we quickly rushed to get all these pictures before we had to change him into a non-coordinating outfit. I put in so much effort, doesn't this kid know that we are lucky if I even get my own clothes and socks to match?! But not all was lost as Uncle Jeff taught Fred the bunny hop.

I HATE WINTER!

As you can see Fred is tired of his snowsuit & all this cold winter like weather...if we could only stay in the 50's and have the temp continue to go higher, Fred (and mommy) would be much happier.

Fred has a girlfriend!

Last thursday, Roxi came for a visit with her adorable little girl Anni. It was such a nice visit for me to have adult company during the day. What struck me most was Anni is 18 months, and looking at this "big kid" who could express her needs and wants, could color and ask to take a nap, isn't really all that much older than my little baby. I can't believe how much growth happens in such a short amount of time! As you can tell Fred had a wonderful time.

First St. Patty's Day

Fred's first St. Patty's day consisted of napping, nursing, fussing, and being changed. He even went on i-tunes & bought the Riverdance album. He was a very good boy who allowed mommy enough time to make a sheppard's pie for daddy. He was very festive in his green!

I am my father's son

Stan's aunt gave this shirt as a gift for Fred to grow into, but I couldn't resist an early try-on. Now I have 2 plaid flannel wearing boys to love!

The Mastisis Crisis

Well I had big plans for the blog last week. Oh yes, in celebration of Fred's one month birthday I've been working on a video (it will be coming) however, after Mr. Frederick having horrid nights last Sunday and Monday I thought I ran my self into the ground and got the flu. As the fever continued from Tuesday till Friday and as I have hardly left the house or had human contact I knew something wasn't right. It was not the flu, just your run of the mill bacterial breast infection...ahhhhhhh! No fun, not what so ever. Especially, in thinking it was the flu I was wearing a stupid purple bandana around my face most of the time as not wanting to infect Fred, turns out Fred will just be thinking "Who was that masked woman who fed me?" It is I, the Lone Mommy... where ever there is a poopy diaper I will be there. When that fever came on, I was a mess. Thank goodness, for my perfect partner Stan and for my own mom being able to take a sick day to come care for Fred as I tried to sleep. I think she had so much fun as she talked to him the entire time. They played games, went for a walk, took a bath, it was a big day! What would we do with Grandmas? We might be back up in business as I begin my third day of antibiotics. Stay tuned to this local blog for more updates.

Good Morning Gorgeous

This morning I woke up to the most handsome face ever, and the night before I wanted to scream at it! No, Stan and I didn't have a fight or anything, Fred decided to be awake from 2am till 5:15am. He is so cruel with these teaser nights where he almost sleeps through the night and then on a Sunday night, when we really are counting on getting a chunk of sleep, he revolts. This morning I fed him in bed and allowed for him to snooze with me in bed. Waking up to his funny little faces and snoring makes me melt, which is amazing because just a few hours before I was close to tears in dealing with him. And Stan is being nominated for father of the year award getting up at 4am to give me a break and then going to work today - what a lucky girl am I having two wonderful boys!

I take after my Aunt Molly

We call this the Aunt Molly move. As in "please don't wake me. Just five more minutes", then inaudible groans, grunts, and moans, and finally hunkering down under the covers. This is followed by squeals and stretches in order to wake up. Just like his college aged Aunt Molly.

First's for Mom & Dad

While we have been tracking Fred's firsts (he hasn't done much yet - we'll keep you posted), Mom and Dad have experienced all sorts of firsts. In an effort to help mom's recovery from the c-section dad changed every diaper during the first two weeks of Fred's life. Mom had her chance not to long ago to brush up on her diapering skills. Now she's a pro at it, as she can successfully remove, clean, cream, and place a new diaper on while navigating the enigma that is a snap onesie at 3:00am. Dad also has had his firsts, like being peed on while changing a diaper. The wall also was a victim in this incident. This experience led to the immediate adventure of Fred's first bath on 2/25/08. No one ever told me a newborn can be just as slippery as a bar of wet soap - you gotta know how to hang on to that little bugger! At first it seemed Fred was not going to be happy with getting wet, but after a quick squeal he seemed to rather enjoy the warm water and of course staring at the kitchen lights. Since last Monday, Fred has had two other baths, semi-successful, sadly on our last attempt the towel didn't make it out clean.
